Dennis Shlionsky, born, reared, and educated in New Jersey, has spent his entire career representing ordinary people injured through no fault of their own. Dennis was recognized by as a Personal Injury Litigation “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers Magazine in 2019 and 2020.

The key to Dennis’ success is the close, trusted relationships he has forged with his clients, helping ordinary people recover the money needed to re-establish their lives. Deeply passionate about recovering just compensation for those who have suffered at the hands of others, Dennis has litigated personal injury cases of almost every kind and complexity, and successfully resolved claims to six- and seven- figure resolutions.

He has assisted in the recovery of more than $10 Million Dollars against insurance companies and corporations refusing to fairly compensate families affected by life-altering injuries. Dennis most recently assisted with recovering $950,000 for a North Jersey family involved in a crash on LBI, $905,000 for a Woodbridge man hurt on the NJ Turnpike, and $750,000 for friends injured by an intoxicated driver working for a nationwide food chain, which initially refused to pay a dime.

Prior to joining Leonard Legal Group, Dennis was an attorney at a regional multipurpose firm in Roseland, New Jersey. He was also privileged to serve as Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Margaret Goodzeit in the General Equity Part of the New Jersey Superior Court. Dennis brings his perspective from behind the bench by counseling injured clients on commercial, probate, employment and property issues that may affect their personal injury claims. Dennis also uses his dispute resolution experience as a former court-appointed mediator in Somerset County, where he successfully facilitated a settlement in 96 percent of the scenarios in which he has assisted.

Beginning at William Mitchell and graduating from Rutgers Law School, Dennis competed as a member of the Mock Trial team, served as President of Phi Alpha Delta, a professional law fraternity, and served as judicial intern for Joseph A. Dickson, US Magistrate Judge for the District of NJ. A published Editor for Rutgers’ Journal of Law and Public Policy, Dennis has also achieved a notable list of honors, including several CALI distinctions and the Samuel Rubin award for academic excellence. Prior to entering law school, Dennis was a litigation paralegal in New Jersey and Manhattan.

Having lost his mother to lymphoma as a teenager, Dennis volunteers actively for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and has been recognized by the Eric Neisser Public Interest program for contributing to several pro bono ventures. Through the Morris Stern Bankruptcy Project and Justice Foundation’s Criminal Expungement Clinic, he has provided pro bono bankruptcy and other assistance to New Jersey and Minnesota’s underrepresented poor and low-income communities.

Married with two children, Dennis appreciates coffee, bad puns, reading, and spending time with his family. He also enjoys staying fit with his kids and martial arts, particularly traditional Goju Ryu Karate.
