$5.5 Million Verdict in Nursing Home Negligence Case Secured by Leonard Legal Group
Morristown, NJ — November 20, 2025
A Morris County jury awarded a $5.5 million verdict to the family of Robert Hayes after determining that Care One at Morris violated New Jersey’s Nursing Home Residents’ Rights Act and acted negligently. The verdict followed a three-week trial in the Superior Court of New Jersey in Morristown.
Mr. Hayes suffered a catastrophic stroke due to Care One staff failing to recognize and respond to clear signs of medical distress. The jury found that the facility’s negligence and delay in emergency care directly contributed to Mr. Hayes’ untimely death.
